Hospital Atlas

In the research project “visual Atlas of the hospital everyday life”, selected work organizational and communicative operational sequence in the hospital “Inselspital” Berne with new methods of the Knowledge Visualization are descriptive represented. Owing to these visualizations, working processes and working structures can become clearly illustrated and more efficiently steered of the hospital.

A “visual Atlas” is to be developed as a result - a collection of multivariate visualizations, which communicates precisely specific partial aspects of the hospital everyday life of patients. Independent, innovative methods and models are defined, in order to develop further the visual research and to confirm it. Both visualizations themselves and the developed work methods can be of interest to other research projects. For the researching fields “Research through Design”, “Knowledge Visualization” and “Social Communication” purposes, the project is serving the theoretical concept.
